Webinar #4, the 2nd in our Careers in ….Series takes a look at Careers in Science. The Careers in…. Series aims to inform those joining in, of the variety of course options to suit different academic abilities, aptitudes and interests. We aim to give an insight into subject/grade requirements, key skills and qualities suited, job prospects, course content and more. With careers ranging from Geneticist, Microbiologist, Environmentalist to Science Teacher and Laboratory Technician, there are lots of ways students to engage with this sector. You will get insight from careers guidance perspective along with college/course options to suit all levels, professional body insight and hear from someone working in the industry.

Guest Speakers

Guest speaker Dr Niamh Fahy from the Department of Applied Science TUS, Rosie Deasy MSC student in Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences and Management Operations UCC and Aisling Cahill 3rd year Physics and Math’s student UCC

Timing

  • .0-25 minutes: Synergy Careers looks at who is best suited and tips on research and requirements
  • 25-35 minutes: Dr. Niamh Fahy on courses on offer in TUS in Science and student experience
  • 35-45 minutes: Rosie Deasy MSc student UCC in Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences and Management Operations UCC on her journey from undergraduate in Biological and Chemical sciences to MSc.
  • 45-50 minutes: Aisling Cahill 3rd year Math’s and Physics student UCC
