Webinar #14 in Synergy Careers Webinar Series, #9 in the Careers in….Series focuses on why study an Arts degree. Often I work with Parents who have concern with employability of an Arts Degree. Part of the aim of this webinar is to challenge this concern. The Careers in…. Series aims to inform those joining in, of the variety of course options to suit different academic abilities, aptitudes and interests. We aim to give an insight into subject/grade requirements, key skills and qualities suited, job prospects, course content and more. You will get insight from careers guidance perspective along with college/course options to suit all levels, professional body insight and hear from someone working in the industry.

Timing
- 0-23 minutes: Synergy Careers on who is best suited, elements to consider, course/training options, requirements and some research tips.
- 23-35 minutes: UL Chris McInerney, options offered in UL Arts Humanities & Social Science Department with a particular focus on LM002 BA Arts and LM031 BA Arts Professional Pathways undergraduate programs + the introduction of Transferable skill badges that students can earn to complement their degree. Chris also referred to some graduate stories and success stories.
- 35-50 minutes: Graduate Experience: Ruth Daly from St Patrick’s Pontifical University on their BA Theology and Arys program run in conjunction in Maynooth University, and job opportunities.
- 50-70 minutes: Panel Discussion, the myths surrounding poor employability of an Arts student to benefits of Arts in various colleges to tips for parents
