Description
Webinar #16 looks at your back up plans to your 1st choice. It is important when looking at post leaving certificate options to look at back up options to your 1st choice. Approximately 50% get 1st preference in CAO. Where ~80% get 1st, 2nd, 3rd CAO preference course. In 2021 to 2023, some students on 625 points received no offer! Not only is it important to carefully consider and research alternate options, it is also important to look at alternate routes to enter into your dream course/profession. FET courses (Further Education & Training) offered in PLC Colleges (Colleges of Further Education), Technological Universities(once referred to as Institutes of Technology) offer level 6/7 options, private colleges, apprenticeships, colleges abroad provide an alternative route to your 1st preference on CAO. You will get insight from careers guidance perspective along with college perspective and student experience
