Description
Webinar #31 offers to give essential tips for both Parents and Students entering TY 2026/2027.
Career Decisions are influenced by students being given, and supported to take, any opportunities that allow them to become more self aware. Transition year offers students many opportunities outside their studies that will help them realise what they enjoy, what they are good at and most importantly help them start narrowing down what they are best suited to doing in their futures.
Having worked in Career Guidance since 1998, in state schools and private practise, I have seen how students have varied in their approach with TY and what it offers. The more involved a student is in TY, taking opportunities, finding relevant work experience to check out interests – the greater the focus and decision making going into 5th/6th year. This webinar aims to guide parents on how to help support their son/daughter get the most out of TY. We will go through varying opportunities provided within TY programmes in schools and what is available to TY students outside of school. You will get insight from Guidance Counsellors, College reps, Parents & Students.
